The NaturalOrigins Project will yield significant outcomes in its mission to foster social inclusion among young people with migrant backgrounds.
Through the cultivation of an entrepreneurial mindset and the development of essential skills, the project will empower participants to establish small-scale businesses, particularly in countries where self-employment opportunities for non-native individuals are notably limited.
One of the key outcomes of the project will be the creation of self-employment opportunities for young migrants, addressing the disparity in self-employment rates between native and non-native populations. By facilitating the establishment of small businesses, the project aims to alleviate financial constraints and enhance the quality of life for participants, thereby promoting greater social participation and activity within their communities.
Entrepreneurship among young migrants will not only offer financial security but also will foster self-resilience, equipping individuals with the tools and resources necessary to navigate economic challenges and pursue their aspirations.
Central to the project’s approach is the focus on trading natural products, including both edible (such as herbs, spices, and fruits) and non-edible items (such as oils and seeds). This emphasis not only serves as a pathway to entrepreneurship but also fosters cultural interaction and understanding among members of local communities.
The culmination of the project is the NaturalOrigins Training Package, consisting of two parts with five units each, offering a comprehensive 30-hour training program. The package will include the NaturalOrigins Train-the-Trainer Manual, the NaturalOrigins Online Learning Space providing instant access to training materials, as well as workshops and training sessions designed to impart essential knowledge and skills.
Moreover, the project will generate valuable insights and recommendations outlined in the Policy Recommendations Paper, which will serve as a guide for trainers and relevant organizations, facilitating the broader adoption and implementation of similar initiatives aimed at promoting social inclusion and economic empowerment among young migrants.
Through its multifaceted approach and tangible outcomes, the NaturalOrigins Project will stand as a testament to the transformative potential of entrepreneurship in enhancing the lives and opportunities of young people with migrant backgrounds, while fostering cross-cultural exchange and community cohesion.
