National Train-the-Trainers Workshop in Italy

On the 5th of July 2024, European Grants International Academy (EGInA srl) held the national train-the-trainer workshop at Chiostro di San Domenico Bevagna, Italy with the participation of 24 youth trainers. During the 2 training sessions, the main objectives were to provide a practical approach and insights on umbria local products, to add practical knowledge and hands-on experience to the theoretical Natural Origins course.

The two workshop sessions covered at first a theoretical workshop on history and production processes of Umbrian olive oil, current market analysis and potential for Umbrian olive oil. Afterwards, a presentation on the traditional wine production in Umbria was given, focusing on the Sagrantino wine and how this product is historically and culturally related to the local society, how the land favours its production.

By the end of the two workshops, participants were expected to identify the basic sensory characteristics of olive oil and Sagrantino wine, along with being able to identify the key market characteristics and strategies for effective promotion. The Natural Origins training material and learning platform were previously provided to the participants of the workshops.
